Where I am
After spending nearly a decade in Los Angeles, where I had a thriving private practice, I decided to move to the east coast to be closer to my family. I currently reside in Beaufort, SC and offer my services in the surrounding areas of the lowcountry.
Who I serve
I meet families where they are at, in order to reach their breastfeeding, healing and parenting goals. I believe a care provider should leave a patient feeling empowered, confident and well-resourced. I am committed to continuously learning and growing so that I can provide the most informed, culturally-competent, inclusive and compassionate care possible.
Working within the postpartum timeframe is very dear to my heart because I know that is when a family is most vulnerable and in need of warmth and tender support. It is an honor for me to serve families in this way.
I strive to connect with people of all abilities, backgrounds, lineages, cultures, faiths, genders, orientations, relationship structures, family dynamics and lifestyles within my work and beyond.
What does “Persephone Rising” mean?
The Goddess Persephone from Greek mythology is both the goddess of springtime and the queen of the underworld. She brings forth life, and she caretakes death. This is exactly what is asked of us when we step into the role of the mother. We are asked to rise into our own power. We are the keepers of the demise of our previous selves, and the keepers of the new life which we have brought forth. The journey from maidenhood to motherhood is beautiful and often devastating. Within the transformation, there is a death and a rebirth. The immense strength and grace required to allow this biological rhythm to unfold is nothing short of magic. The divine energy that Persephone symbolizes can be our beacon and our solace in this time. We can allow the Goddess to guide us through our evolution by her visage.
